Note that you can become an affiliate for large companies once, and then promote any of their products. For example, you can become an affiliate with Amazon (“Amazon Associate”) once and promote any of their products.
Moving away from WhatsApp in particular, and just looking at the transaction on a very basic level…$19 billion for an app; a little piece of software downloaded on your mobile device. What else could you buy for that sum of money instead?
I loved the landing page idea. This would be very effective in one case ONLY. If you are promoting a product or a an eBook this would work very fine OR increasing an Email list by offering something for FREE. You know in this life “Nothing is for FREE”. So you are giving your visitor for an example “A guide to how to install a blog template in wordpress or blogger” or “how to monetize your blog?” a FREE guide will drive this visitor to type his email and hit the subscribe button right away. But if the visitor a PayPal Button he just click the MAGIC X button on the top of his browser. Landing pages are very effective when you know how to use them.
Lastly, Facebook counts impression when the video ads are watched for at least 3 seconds. No matter viewers like it or not, or viewers watch it actively or passively, it is counts as a view. As a result, the measurement of campaign effectiveness is not accurate enough.
SEO – I have a full guide on Youtube SEO. You’ll basically want to research a video keyword in YouTube’s Autocomplete dropdown, then craft your video title/description to include your keyword. Write a long description and embed it on your blog to get more views. Create a nice custom thumbnail and make your videos long and thorough, just like your blog posts should be.
To those on the outside, affiliate marketing can seem like a black box. It’s inner workings are mysterious to most marketers and in many companies it’s not treated with the same seriousness as other channels. Some marketers, only familiar with the bad reputation acquired by some industry players in the 2000s, deride it as a source of spam and little more.

Excellent numbers! Keep up the good work 🙂 I have a quick question for you, what’s your take on Prosociate? Associate Goliath? etc. I installed Prosociate on one of my sites and imported a ton of products from Amazon. Next, I noticed I’m getting a ton of clicks, but zero conversions. Any thoughts?
Two-tier programs exist in the minority of affiliate programs; most are simply one-tier. Referral programs beyond two-tier resemble multi-level marketing (MLM) or network marketing but are different: Multi-level marketing (MLM) or network marketing associations tend to have more complex commission requirements/qualifications than standard affiliate programs.
I was asked on hangouts messager from a girl, she said she was getting a heritages from her parents, but that her money was blocked and she needed it unlocked. She was looking me to do it and give me half the money. I blocked her because I believe it is a scram. Is there things like this happening.
Choose an affiliate program. First, you must decide which affiliate program to join. Affiliate programs often have a theme, such as gardening or weight loss, and you should find a theme that interests you. Look for a network with a lot of product codes that are relevant to your topic. Consider networks like Commission Junction, LinkShare, ShareaSale, Clickbank, and Amazon. Remember, it isn’t really about the network – it’s about whether the network is relevant to the content of your website.
The most advantageous aspect of affiliate marketing is that once you get a solid affiliate program in place, you can essentially earn an income on autopilot. All that’s really required is a steady flow of traffic to your blog or website. There are some downsides, however.
In affiliate marketing you don’t require a good amount of investment on the part of affiliate plus there is no certain pre requisite to start affiliate marketing. In fact signing up with any affiliate program is free of cost. All you need is your time and effort.
Whatsapp is different. Mark wants only large user-base. He had already become the top rich man from his Facebook. Whatsapp is just a kid in front of Facebook. Facebook is installed 4+ billion times & it has more than 2 billion active user base and its growing like the big bang. So mark is now cool. He is very concerning user’s experience because his stomach is full. Once the whole world is addicted to Whatsapp, like Facebook, Mark will start Whatsapp monetization. So that he can get maximum profits. But SnapChat is different. It cannot able to take big risks.
Thanks for the support! And absolutely, different niches will bring different results. But, what I’ve found is that ANY niche can be profitable when marketed right. It’s all about consistent quality content creation and great keyword research. Thanks so much for the comment!
You see, when you put ads on your site, you get paid when someone clicks on them, whether your visitors end up buying or not. The advertiser is essentially renting space on your blog, like they’d rent a billboard along a highway.
Hi my name is Stephen Pastore. I am a 22 year old aspiring entrepreneur. Im gunna try and be as brief as possible. So basically I just want to know what kind of money I can expect to make from an import/export business? I know this a very vague and general question that doesnt really have an answer but lets assume im an extremely hard worker thats gunna work 24/7 and things work out really well and lets assume that ill spend atleast 5-7 years on this business but more likely 8-10. Could i ever expect to make 5-10 million in a lump sum for myself after tax (not company revenue)? The other question is if the answer to that question is no, would you say that since i have very little contacts/ideas/experience and just dont know where to start, is it a good idea to consider an amazon import business as a good way to gain that valuable experience/contacts and ideas im looking for that will EVENTUALLY LEAD me to a big opportunity where I would be able to build a very big business like for example something that produces around 50 million in sales or gets acquired for 50 million etc? like basically would an amazon import business be a great teaching tool/gateway or a springboard to move on and graduate onto a much bigger opportunity? I understand i sound just like and ignorant naive money hungry kid that doesnt know his ass from elbow but if you could help me out with these concerns id appreciate it greatly and I understand completely this is hard question to answer but anything helps. Thank you.

Twitter: Unlike Facebook and YouTube, Twitter doesn’t currently serve autoplay video (although it is testing the feature for some iOS users), so a view is counted when a user clicks on a video within a tweet. Video view counts are not publicly displayed. Advertisers can view stats within the Twitter ad platform, or for organic tweets from within the analytics dashboard. [Update: A month after this post was originally published, Twitter rolled out autoplay on the desktop and iOS platforms and adjusted its view-count standards. It now counts a view after three seconds, with the wrinkle that the video needs to be 100% in view on a user’s device for at least three seconds.]
Use Facebook tools to your advantage – Know your audience. Define your perfect customer and use Facebook targeting accordingly. Facebook offers a robust set of targeting options so you can always deliver your content to the people who are already interested in it.
That choice to use watch time instead of completion rate can muddy things a bit, since ad lengths can vary even within the same context. For example, Facebook has started testing six-second pre-roll ads in addition to its mid-roll ads that can be up to 15 seconds long. Hypothetically, if a majority of the in-stream ads Facebook serves are these six-second pre-roll spots and people always watch these non-skippable pre-rolls to completion, the watch time chart for Facebook’s non-skippable in-stream ads could look like there’s a significant viewership drop-off after the six-second mark. That could be interpreted to mean that people’s attention typically maxes out at six seconds — whether the ad is pre-roll or mid-roll and regardless of its length — when it could be more accurate to say that the ads typically max out then. Of course both could be true and likely would be if Facebook’s existing ads’ watch time is any indication. According to a Facebook spokesperson, ads’ watch time drop-offs remained roughly consistent regardless of the ads’ length; so if in-stream ad viewers were to typically tune out after six seconds, that would be as likely the case were the ad six seconds long or 15 seconds long.
Affiliate marketing is totally a new concept for me but after reading your article its quite clear that how we can publish ads on other websites on our own blog and earn money with affiliate marketing. Need some more updates on those and will read your future posts too. Once again thanks @Harsh for sharing such blog!!
You’re right, Javier – the Smart Blogger audience is mostly beginning and intermediate bloggers and online businesses. The merchant side is more of an advanced topic. But good suggestion. Maybe they’ll address the merchant side in the future.
That’s a great question, and a good point. We mentioned that Facebook video has a shorter lifespan than on YouTube, but exactly how short is it? We did some research, and it’s tough to determine exactly how long the average lifespan is for video posts specifically. However, our friends at Post Planner have a great post on the lifespan of Facebook posts in general, pinning it down somewhere between 3 and 5 hours.
Mention products in your articles or blog posts, and use the affiliate code to link out to each product. Use your articles to subtly convince readers that these products or services are worthwhile. Do not sell too hard.
Every time you make a sale, you get a percentage — a commission, in other words. That percentage can range from 5 percent to 25 percent (sometimes even higher), depending on the company and the product. It may not sound like much, but for high-ticket items, even 5 percent can be quite a lot. When you make hundreds of sales, the amount can certainly add up. Some of the highest commissions can be earned when you promote digital information products as an affiliate.
Wonderful post. Thanks for sharing the insights. Would you mind throwing some light on not your product itself but the competition your product had prior to you entering. For example – I sell essential oil in the geated beauty category and since the competition is so fierce, I’m struggling to make organic sales. Indeed, sales and reviews seem to be the mantra for AMZ algo. I’m currently trending at 31 reviews and should hit the 50 review mark in 2 weeks hopefully. I’m truly hoping things start to change then.

Some people remember the 1990’s as a tremendous period of growth for grunge music and Jim Carrey films. While this is true, most people will probably tell you the 90’s were responsible for this big, beautiful, technology called the World Wide Web (aka the internet, the web, the vast digital ocean of information at our finger tips). And with any new technology or media, companies quickly realized they had a new opportunity to market their products and services to consumers via the millions of websites they visit every day.
This may be because it sees itself in competition with YouTube. Directly uploading your video makes it easier for its algorithm to put your video in front of an interested audience. This means your video uploaded directly might get more views, shares, and comments.
Consider the search volume for your chosen topic. Find out how many people are searching for that topic by running a web search for, say, “quick weight loss.” The quotes will make your search specific, so that the only results will be sites that mention the exact phrase “quick weight loss.” Your search engine should list the number of search results that turn up for your query. Try to find a topic that turns up fewer than 5,000 results.
…agree completely I have found text links to convert the best, and going micro niche, every month is better than the last, and looking at ways to take it forward now, looking forward to reading more of your work, thanks
I also think this is why tutorial posts are so valuable. 1) Your teaching someone a skill, and even if they choose not to use the product you suggest, it can still be very valuable information. 2) If it’s a product you personally use, then it’s easy to see why you’d recommend it – you’re a customer too!
If you are wondering how and why would you get paid if anyone clicks on your short link then the answer is the one who clicks on the link will see an ad and they need to click on “SKIP THIS AD” before they are redirected to actual article/post. To get the real feel, you can click on this short links to see the demo.
You’ve probably heard a hundred times by people telling you to build an email list from the blogger and internet marketing crowd, but building an email list is way easier on a physical product oriented website.
And it takes a hell of a lot of patient to get there. But once you get the trust, and you are able to keep it, there is not turning back. Just beware of your sneaky competitors and try to always provide the best content you can.
This is a very common way to promote offers. For example, you will often see a blog post with links to certain products or services. If the reader clicks through and makes a purchase, the blog owner will make a commission. These in-text links blend in with other content on your site and are a great way of promoting an offer within your content, without being over-the-top salesy with banners.
It is not easy to convince someone to buy products, but it is how most of the products are sold. I’ve sold a good number of WPZon Builder plugin and HostGator hosting. It works if you have your blog and if you are writing continually sharing your honest experience.
With mobile video, marketers can make deeper emotional connections than ever. But there’s an art to storytelling on mobile, driven by people choosing what they watch and for how long. The quicker your video ad delivers your message and captures attention, the better your chance of people remembering what they see. How will you use video to tell your story?
So, can you really make money from affiliate programs? Well yes and no; there is money in affiliate marketing but if YOU can make money from it or not depends on a lot of other factors such as your commitment, experience, site traffic etc.
Let’s face it: technology, especially the internet, can be pretty daunting to try to grasp, and with terms like malware, cursor and spam, it also seems pretty dangerous. So kudos to the guys who decided e-commerce and affiliate marketing should rely on an innocuous technology called a “cookie.”
These days, most people use social sites like Facebook on their cell phones and other Internet-enabled mobile devices. As mentioned above, 84% of its advertising income comes from mobile advertising and it has plenty of data about the performance of various marketing videos on its site, so it’s also the best place to turn to when you need advice about the kinds of videos that are likely to get watched and reacted to.
The way you endorse a product/service and the social proof behind it (eg. Facebook polls or maybe reviews from other customers) are the main reason I was able to go from 2% to 8%+. If you don’t see these in your affiliate dashboard, use Thirsty Affiliate’s pro version to see them.
But what if you want to take your site to the next level? If you have a content-driven Web site, how can you make money off your traffic? If you are an online merchant, how can you get people to your site to buy your products? One popular option that serves both of these functions is an affiliate program. In this article, we’ll examine affiliate programs to find out what they are, how they work, who they are for and how you can use them to benefit your Web site.
Online marketers are aware of the fact that they need to present unique value to the users, but they often forget about this element when creating Facebook Video Ads. Why should your target consumer watch your video? Will they learn something new? Will you help them solve a problem? These ads are not meant to be just fun; they need to show how your company is better than the competitive brands.
Before we get into details, let’s answer the question from our headline: can a small business benefit from Facebook Video Ads? Definitely! This is the simplest way to explain how the ads function: you upload your video, you set the budget, and you allow Facebook to promote it to your specific audience. You’ll get relevant views that can easily convert.
I’ve [followed your blog/read your book/taken your related course/used your related service] and [say a little about the results you’ve achieved]. It seems that [prospective affiliate product] could also be a good fit for my audience.
I know 30% of my earnings came from products people bought because I happened to be the one that sent them onto Amazon.com. For example, I sold a watch a while ago for $5,000 and got a $400 commission but I don’t even own a website that even remotely discusses watches. This is one of the other reasons why I love using Amazon’s affiliate program.
Then I started running page post link to a couple different blog posts on my own site where I had another video about why this coaching program is so awesome, and about the bonuses I was giving away for people who bought the program.
I am so very glad I found this website and read this post. I am so inexperienced in all this, but I do see that you take a totally different approach to the many others I have read. It is so refreshing. I will go back reread, study and apply.
This is amazing Chris. I’ve my website up and running for last 3 years but did not get enough motivation signing up for amazon affiliate. I’ll definitely try that out now. Thanks for explaining with great details!

Facebook video ads are highly targeted. To watch a video on Facebook, a user has to be logged in to his/her account which contains all his/her profile information. Therefore, advertisers can target specific demographic, locations, interests, or even purchase habits. In terms of targeting, Facebook is second to none in both segmentation and accuracy.
For example, I might find a top selling course on click bank that I actually want to buy and when I buy it I can study all of the sales pages and up sells. I’ve found that I have learned much more from doing this than any actual courses. 🙂
There’s also the issue of declining organic reach on the platform. The newsfeed algorithm now makes it harder to earn high organic reach. If video content is particularly popular, however, then there may be an opportunity for content creators to capitalize.
Videos have repeatedly shown that they have much larger organic reach and engagement than other forms of content. People are watching more than 100 million hours of video on Facebook every day, and you can tap into this market with your own videos.
PS: Too late to comment on your post, but i would just like to say that THANK YOU (A BIG THANKS), for creating such a wonderful tip with us. I read it, and couldn’t stop myself to write a short comment on this.
With automatic placements, Facebook will show the ad or ads in places they’re likely to best perform, such as Facebook, Instagram and Audience Network. With editing your own placements, you choose which places to promote your ad or ads. Keep in mind that this may lead to a reduced audience reach.
Also i wanted to note from my last comment, i did end up trying to join the amazon affiliate program since i last read this, but could not find any general text links that i could attach to any sites that i own (even its only one or two)
Think about which services you use and if it makes sense to promote them on your site. You can usually expect commissions between 15-30% on service products – sometimes higher or lower depending on what it is.

This is obviously a crucial factor to consider. You might come up with an idea for a niche you know a lot about, but are there affiliate programs for the niche? No affiliate program = no sales. Time to look for a different niche.

Great visual of how affiliate marketing works! I will be sure to share this with my new affiliates when they sign up. Many of them sign up because they know they want to be an affiliate marketer but still don’t know what it actually is.
Now that your site is set up and you’ve joined an affiliate program, you’re ready to begin perhaps the most time-consuming (but potentially rewarding) part of the affiliate business: Producing content.
Reading this article I thought , wow thats still a lotta work and realised- if you maried me, I wouldnt have to do all the work!. Then looking at your picture I can tell I could almost be your mom, so if you dont have one, let me know! 😛
“Chat apps will have to do much more to increase customer stickiness while realizing that they’re easily replicable (by other apps). So, they will have to come up with something unique to also make sure that revenue generation remains a sustained model,” said Faisal Kawoosa, general manager of research and consulting at Cybermedia Research. The WhatsApp spokesperson said that the platform is focused on building a simple, reliable, and secure messaging app. “No matter how the product evolves, this will always guide our product decisions”. While the spokesperson said it was too early to share monetisation plans, sources said the platform may charge for additional capabilities in the future.
This Ebook is designed to teach you how to use Facebook. Facebook is the only tool you need to fill up your clientele and it’s 100% free to use. Best of all you already have enough leads to keep your schedule full for years; you just need to know how to use them.
Just like we did in the first method, make it sure that a catchy and informative description is also provided along with the link. Point out details like- product description, brand, discount available etc.
Regardless of ad type, include a call-to-action that prompts users to take the next step (Learn More, Buy Now, etc.). For best results, include both a bit.ly link in the copy and a call-to-action button at the end of the video.
Copy that link and start sharing it with your WhatsApp contacts. You may also create relevant groups on WhatsApp, such as- funny images, funny videos, trending news etc and share these links over there. Another brilliant idea is to create a ‘Broadcast list’ and share the link to more than one contact at a time!
The true power of video advertising on Facebook is the targeting capabilities. Forget spray and pray — you need a hyper-targeted group of people for your ad’s audience. Narrowing your target group will give you less overall views, but because you’re reaching only the people who are relevant, your CTR is likely to be higher.
As Facebook continues to rise as a video powerhouse, a key concern has also risen with it: what exactly is a video view? As it turns out, the standard of a YouTube “views” is 10 times higher than that of Facebook or Facebook-owned Instagram.
The first thing to do is to join an affiliate program then select the products you intend to sell. The owners of the products would provide you with an affiliate code you can use for referring traffic to the main site. Also, you will be offered banners, text links and several forms of creative copies in which you just copy and paste the code on your own site to refer traffic. Any interested customer who clicks on the links from your website will be redirected to the main site where the product is sold and if they pay for the product or subscribe to a program/service and indicate you as the referral, you get a certain percentage as commission.
WhatsApp, the largest messaging app in the world with 1.3 billion monthly active users, introduced a business version in India early this week. “Based on research, we know that people are using WhatsApp to talk to businesses. We want to make business messaging more convenient for people and more efficient for businesses,” a WhatsApp spokesperson said in response to ET’s questions. Whatsapp Business is a separate app from Whatsapp Messenger, aimed largely at giving a direct communication platform to small businesses, many of who may be using WhatsApp already.

In this post I’m going to walk you through everything you need to know to start affiliate marketing on your blog, even if you’ve never made a cent online before, don’t know what affiliate marketing is, or haven’t even started to build your blog.
Join one or two affiliate programs. Promote just a few products at first — stay focused on your niche by promoting products that would appeal to your target market. Get used to the affiliate marketing model. Test which products appeals to your email list and your potential customers.
Chris, I am glad you have had good fortune with amazon, I think I have chosen the wrong niche, it appears to be very competitive, I have had my site for 4 mo, and have made zero, however, it may not be all bad, I still work on content, and I do get indexing, however, I am at a loss on how to find keywords on ranking content; If I could find this out, then I could do some seo on any LSI keywords. I do agree about having a nice looking website, I paid far much less then you did, and I think I turned out with a site that looks very nice; If visitors do not think you are legit, or if you content looks like trash, then the will bounce before you can blink. I think once I can find those magic LSI keywords and rank them, then I think things will turn around, as I have also invested quite a bit up until this point.
This is a great place to start for beginner affiliates. The deeper you get into affiliation, the potential is even great than $50 to $100 in the following industries: Gambling, Adult and Pharma…these industries can get an affiliate a $250+ CPA commission + Rev Share for successful affiliates. The sky is the limit and many people fall into the most amateur affiliate programs which is probably why most affiliates are not successful. I’ve been an affiliate marketer for many years now and if you’re just starting out, the one thing I recommend is first of all: Get familiar with all the tools, affiliation strategies…get to know the programs, establish a connection with your affiliate managers and if you put a lot of time in it and take it seriously…Sooner or later you will succeed. I’ve done it and I am still doing it. I have a few successful sites that I operate, I work both with Click Bank and independent affiliation programs…One word of advice, Amazon and Ebay are over-saturated…Try an affiliate program with a higher CPA and less competition…Competition can be measured simply by using the Google Keyword Tools. Great article! I love your blog. Cheers! Mike
As to the issues in IL… there are plenty of ways to avoid having your business closed up by an idiotic Governor including like moving your business to a neighboring state that’s actually business friendly. There are ways around the issues and I know I wouldn’t let Amazon shutting the program down in my state stop me. I can’t legally advise you what to do, but I’m just saying there are ways around it.
